Grand Canyon’s North Rim Opening Delayed

Grand Canyon officials spoken that the opening of the park’s North Rim would be elapsed due to a record-setting snow season, equal to last week’s announcement.

The North Rim was scheduled to unshut in mid-May, but officials pushed the opening to June 2. The uneaten couple of weeks will ensure that State Route 67 will be plowed and cleared unbearable for staff to reopen the visitor facilities, officials said.

“We fathom the patience and cooperation of our neighbors and visitors with this wait as our partners and park staff work to unshut the North Rim roads, trails, and facilities safely,” said Superintendent Ed Keable.

According to the announcement, the North Rim has received increasingly than 250 inches – or approximately 20 feet – of snow this winter season and it has unfurled as recently as April 4.

Park officials told the Associated Press that the Grand Canyon Lodge North Rim operations will uncork June 2, but the campground will reopen June 9.
